Luka Doncic

Luka Doncic lit up the scoreboard again, but his latest performance carried a costly twist that could shake up the Lakers’ momentum. Yankee Scores reports.

Doncic’s 41 Points Overshadowed by Suspension Risk

The Los Angeles Lakers star dropped 41 points and grabbed eight rebounds in Friday’s 116-99 win over the Brooklyn Nets. Yet, the highlight reel was clouded by his 16th technical foul of the season a suspension-triggering mark unless the league rescinds it.

Doncic nailed five three-pointers, marking his 15th 40-point game this year. But tempers flared in the third quarter when he and Ziaire Williams exchanged shoves and swipes, leading to double technical.

Lakers’ Supporting Cast Steps Up

Austin Reaves fueled the late surge, scoring 15 of his 26 points in the fourth quarter. LeBron James added 14 points and eight assists, guiding the Lakers to their 11th win in 12 games. The victory capped a strong return from a 5-1 road trip, pushing Los Angeles into third place in the Western Conference.

Bronny James also made history alongside his father. LeBron delivered the first father-son assist in NBA history on Bronny’s second-quarter three-pointer. With Marcus Smart sidelined, Bronny has earned meaningful rotation minutes for the first time in his young career.

Nets’ Struggles Continue

Brooklyn showed fight despite its 10th straight loss. Josh Minott led with 18 points, while Nic Claxton and Ziaire Williams chipped in 16 apiece. Still, the Nets’ starters sat the entire fourth quarter, and the team dropped its 20th game in 22 outings.

What’s Next

The Lakers will host Washington on Monday after enjoying rare back-to-back days off. The Nets, meanwhile, look to regroup at home against Sacramento on Sunday.
