Gilgeous-Alexander Closes Strong

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 30 points, including 10 in the fourth quarter, to lead the Thunder to a 111-100 win over the New York Knicks on Sunday night. After struggling through three quarters on 5-of-15 shooting, he drained all three of his shots in the final period and made 13 of 16 free throws. His streak of consecutive games with at least 20 points now stands at an NBA-record 135.

Williams and Holmgren Step Up

Jalen Williams added 22 points, hitting 7 of 11 from the floor and all seven of his free throws. After missing significant time with wrist and hamstring injuries, Williams looks to be rounding back into All-Star form. Chet Holmgren chipped in 16 points and nine rebounds, giving Oklahoma City balance on both ends.

Knicks Battle but Fall Short

Jalen Brunson led New York with 32 points on 13-for-22 shooting, while Karl-Anthony Towns posted 15 points and 18 rebounds. Josh Hart’s deep three at the halftime buzzer cut the Thunder lead to 53-52, but Oklahoma City responded with energy in the third. Despite trimming the deficit to one in the fourth, the Knicks never took the lead.

Thunder Stay on Top

Oklahoma City improved to 59-16, winning for the 14th time in 15 games and holding a 2.5-game edge over San Antonio for the league’s best record. The Thunder outscored New York 31-13 from the free-throw line, showing their ability to control tempo late.

What’s Next

The Thunder host the Detroit Pistons on Monday, while the Knicks, losers of two straight after a seven-game winning streak, visit the Houston Rockets on Tuesday.
