Jacksonville Jaguars two-way star Travis Hunter says he’s coming into the 2026 season feeling faster and more explosive even after adding 10 pounds during his offseason recovery.
Hunter, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and the 2024 Heisman Trophy winner, is back on the field for training camp after his rookie season was cut short by a right knee injury.

He had surgery in November to repair a damaged lateral collateral ligament and missed the last 10 games of Jacksonville’s AFC South championship season.
Hunter is back in better shape and is healthy and fully participating in the first three days of camp.
The wide receiver and cornerback said he was concerned at first that the added weight might slow his speed. But the work he put in during his rehabilitation has done the opposite.
“I was nervous at first,” Hunter said, according to ESPN. ”I’ve never played at this weight. I’m going to get heavy, I won’t be able to do what I do”
But Hunter said the added muscle has actually helped him feel lighter on his feet.
Jaguars coach Liam Coen has been mindful of his workload during camp, but is dedicated to playing him on both sides of the ball.
Jacksonville will hope his return can provide a big lift as the team heads into the 2026 season.
