The Green Bay Packers are acquiring running back Kaleb Johnson from the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Johnson joins Green Bay following a tough rookie year. A third-round pick last year,he recorded 28 carries for 69 yards and one nine-yard reception in 10 games.
The Big Picture
Packers starter Josh Jacobs was charged with misdemeanor battery and property damage charges stemming from an incident in May near Green Bay and a league suspension remains a possibility.
Johnson gives Green Bay a cheap safety net if that scenario worsens.
Johnson jumped at the chance, taking to social media to say, “Appreciate it Steelers Nation. Let’s do it”
Someone had to make room on the roster and it looks like Pierre Strong Jr. is that someone. Strong had a good preseason but is not expected to make the Packers’ 53-man roster with Johnson in the mix.
Johnson is starting anew and perhaps with the chance he never had in Pittsburgh.
