At least one thousand residents of New York will have the opportunity to see the a 2026 FIFA World Cup match inside the MetLife Stadium New Jersey for a fraction of the cost most ticket-holders have paid.
The United States is hosting some matches of the World Cup for the first time since 1994 and fans are paying outrageous sums of money to buy tickets.

The world’s football governing body, FIFA, sparked outrage among fans in May, with premium Cup final tickets on sale at $32,970 apiece. It has become a symbol for the perceived excesses of dynamic pricing, a sales strategy that adjusts prices over time based on how much customers are willing to pay.
Tickets sales is now in its final phase, slowly rolling out available tickets in various host cities where matches have not yet sold out, per USA Today.
