Arsenal and Galatasaray are discussing the availability of Victor Osimhen amid talks over the Turkish club’s interest in Gabriel Martinelli and Ethan Nwaneri.
According to The Telegraph, Arsenal are understood to have invited offers for Gabriel Martinelli and Ethan Nwaneri and have spoken to Galatasaray about the prospect of selling several squad members to the Turkish side this transfer window.
Osimhen Negotiations
It is understood the talks involved the possible situation of Osimhen joining Arsenal, although it is unclear whether this was raised by Berta or if the striker was effectively proposed to the Premier League champions.
The Gunners have been keen on Osimhen for some time but the Nigeria international has been eclipsed by Julian Alvarez on the club’s striker target list.
But Atletico Madrid’s asking price of more than £100m for Alvarez has so far proved prohibitive for Arsenal and sources understand consideration has been given to changing targets.
Osimhen is a year older than Alvarez and has shown himself to be one of the deadliest strikers in Europe during his time at Napoli and Galatasaray. It remains to be seen if Arsenal will pursue a move for the 27-year-old, or if his future is tied to Martinelli or Nwaneri.
Osimhen is already being linked with a move to Arsenal’s north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur, who are looking for attacking reinforcements.
Defensive Reinforcements
Arsenal are braced for a busy end to the transfer window with the club looking to get incoming and outgoing deals done.
The London club are still interested in Aston Villa center-back Ezri Konsa but will need to get closer to matching Villa’s £60m valuation.
Arsenal have tried to lower Villa’s asking price but the Midlands club have so far refused to budge on the fee with Konsa back in training after regular appearances for England at the World Cup.
