Barcelona and Real Madrid are among the teams interested in JJ Gabriel’s rift with Manchester United.
ESPN sources revealed that the 15-year-old and his entourage have shocked Old Trafford top management with his demand to leave. Sources reveal that Manchester United will not be cancelling his contract, and therefore, he cannot be de-registered.
However, his attitude has paved way for his exit in the next summer transfer window. According to sources, Gabriel is eligible to sign scholarship forms after turning 16, on Oct. 6.
Two of the Spanish powerhouses, Barcelona and Real Madrid, have been notified of his case. Gabriel has a chance of moving to Europe since he is an Irish passport holder.
Real Madrid’s strategy would be to get him playing for their B team.
ESPN sources have reported that Premier League clubs like Manchester City and Chelsea are also keeping an eye on the situation.
But sources near one English team with a reputation said there is a general belief in the game that Gabriel would agree a way to come back into United at the end.
The United management believes that they will be able to solve this matter and maintain that they are unaware of the reasons that are compelling him to want to leave.
Gabriel would have been picked by Michael Carrick for the Carabao Cup fixture against Brighton on Wednesday. Playing in that match would have made Gabriel the youngest-ever United player.
