Spain has won a knockout-round match at the World Cup for the first time since 2010, with a 3-0 victory over Austria and moves on to the round of 16.
Mikel Oyarzabal opened the scoring in the first half before Pedro Porro extended the lead to 2-0 on a header. Oyarzabal then provided the final margin in the final minutes to add an exclamation mark on the victory.
In the round of 16 — which takes place Monday in Dallas — Spain will face the winner of Croatia-Portugal.
