Former world No 1 Naomi Osaka dazzled the crowd once again with her entry on Thursday, but dug deep to avoid a second-round exit, Yankee Scores reports.
Naomi Osaka drew lots of attention and criticism with her first-round outfit. Her first-round opponent, Germany’s Laura Siegemund, said, “I am not here for a fashion show,” after her straight-sets exit from the tournament to the No 16 seed.

Despite the wide spread criticism with her sequined waistcoat blouse and black mesh train over her yellow-brown and gold match dress in the first-round, she arrived for the match up against Vekic in a white floor-length flared train over her match outfit.

“There’s a community that I feel like has been built over my on-court outfits, so I just like to keep you guys guessing. I really enjoy that you guys enjoy it.” She said.
In the blazing hot Sun, the four-time Grand Slam champion traded breaks with Vekic in the opening set, and in the second set saved a break point to win the game in one hour and 50 minutes, reaching the third round of the French Open for the first time since 2019.
She’ll now face No 17 seed Iva Jovic after the American defeated Emma Navarro 6-0, 6-3 earlier.
