Brazilian teenager Joao Fonseca ended Novak Djokovic’s latest bid for a record 25th Grand Slam in the third round of the French Open on Friday, Yankee Scores reports.
The three-time French Open title holder lost 4-6, 4-6, 6-3, 7-5, 7-5 in the hot Paris weather.
Djokovic, just like Sinner on Thursday, looked exhausted in the fifth set but kept at it as he exited the men’s draw.

Facing Fonseca for the first time, Djokovic traded defense with delicate drop shots and winners to take the first two sets.
But Fonseca proved tough as he tied the match on sets, and in the final set, he served three consecutive aces to take the match.

“I just enjoyed being on court and what a pleasure it was. It’s my first stepping on court against him,” Fonseca said. “I was just trying to hit the ball as fast I could. Djokovic don’t miss, we still think he’s 20. At the end of the match I think he was more fit than me, that’s crazy.”
