“These are the most difficult days of my life,” Owono says in the statement.
“I struggle to find the words, and it is very hard for me to come to terms with what has happened.
“I feel enormous pain over the loss of Jesus. I think of him, his family, and everyone who loved him.
“I know there will be many issues to address, and I will face whatever comes with the utmost respect. But right now, honestly, I cannot think about anything other than Jesus and the pain we are all experiencing.
“Rest in peace, Jesus,” BBC quoted.

Meet Jesus de Miguel’s Partner Maria and Daughter Carla After His Tragic Death
The family members of Spanish star Jesus de Miguel have been thrown into mourning following the tragic death of the striker on November 3.
Miguel welcomed his first and only child in 2025 when Maria delivered their baby girl.
The news was publicly celebrated by CD Castellon, which congratulated the footballer and his partner on becoming parents.
The club shared a message welcoming Carla and extending its best wishes to the growing family.
The couple has been dating or several years, but chose to make their personal life a private one. Further reports say the 28-year-old Maria played a huge role through the different stages of his professional career.
