Luka Doncic dazzled in Los Angeles, while LeBron James made his comeback to the hardwood. The Lakers faithful were treated to a night of high drama… YankeeSports reports.

Doncic’s record night

The Slovenian superstar delivered a breathtaking performance, scoring 51 points, 10 rebounds, and nine assists in the Lakers’ 142-130 victory over the Chicago Bulls. It was his first 50-point game since joining Los Angeles in February 2025, and his 13th 40-point outing in just 82 appearances, moving him into ninth place in franchise history.

Austin Reaves chipped in with 30 points, while Deandre Ayton added 23 points and 10 rebounds, marking his 20th double-double of the season. The win stretched the Lakers’ streak to four, their longest since November.

LeBron’s return sparks energy

Back from a right hip contusion and arthritis in his left foot, LeBron James scored 18 points. He struggled early, managing only three points in the first half. Yet, a late layup and free throw seemed to ignite him, and he went perfect from the field in the third quarter, scoring 11 points in that stretch.

James reflected afterwards: “It felt good to be back out there with the guys. That third quarter was important for us, and we found our rhythm.”

Bulls show fight but fall short

Josh Giddey led Chicago with 27 points, while rookie Matas Buzelis impressed with 22. Together, they shot 10-of-20 from three-point range, keeping the Bulls competitive until late. Chicago finished 15-of-36 from deep but couldn’t contain Doncic’s brilliance.

The Bulls have now alternated wins and losses across their last six games, following a brutal February run of 11 straight defeats.

What’s next

The Bulls will head to face the Clippers on Friday, while the Lakers prepare to host the Denver Nuggets on Saturday in what promises to be another blockbuster clash.
