Fever Wings

The WNBA’s newest rivalry wasted no time delivering fireworks. In front of a sell‑out crowd at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, the Indiana Fever and Dallas Wings traded blows for 40 minutes before Dallas escaped with a 107‑104 win in the season opener. Yankee Scores reports.

The WNBA opener between Indiana Fever and Dallas Wings was one to live for, as both teams offered high powered offensive machines, anchored by Caitlin and Paige Bueckers.

Wings Edge Fever in Thriller

Dallas leaned on balanced scoring and sharp shooting to secure the victory. Arike Ogunbowale led with 22 points, while Paige Bueckers and Odyssey Sims added 20 apiece. The Wings shot an impressive 52% from beyond the arc and dominated transition play, outscoring Indiana 25‑12 on the break.

Clark’s Return Brings Energy

Caitlin Clark, back after missing most of last season due to injuries, finished with 20 points, seven assists, and five rebounds. She had a chance to tie the game in the final seconds, but her clean look from deep rimmed out. “Started off a little slow, just the anxiety of the first game,” Clark admitted. “But overall felt good, felt fast out there.”

Fever’s Supporting Cast Shines

Kelsey Mitchell led all scorers with 30 points, while Aliyah Boston added 23 in a strong interior performance. Despite Clark’s struggles from three and a few visible frustrations, Indiana kept pace with Dallas through 11 lead changes, proving the Fever’s offense can hang with the league’s best.

The Caitlin Clark Effect

Clark’s presence electrified the crowd, evoking comparisons to iconic NBA debuts. Head coach Stephanie White emphasized her health, saying, “We wouldn’t have played her 30 minutes if she wasn’t OK.” Clark herself noted ongoing back adjustments but insisted she’s ready to push forward. Simply having her back on the floor is a victory for the Fever and the league in its 30th anniversary season.
