As the highest-ranked seed left in the draw, Zverev is heavily favored to finally break his Grand Slam curse, Yankee Scores reports…
Alexander Zverev kept himself firmly in contention for a much-needed Grand Slam title with a convincing win over rising prospect Rafael Jodar in Paris to book his place in the French Open semi-finals.
Experience Triumphs
The second seed is the top-ranked male player still in contention in the French Open singles event following some surprising eliminations in Paris.

The German has had several Grand Slam opportunities before him but was always unable to take advantage of them, having lost in three Grand Slam finals and seven semi-finals.
Zverev lost in straight sets to Carlos Alcaraz in this year’s French Open final and has failed to get past the quarter-final stage four times previously.
Extinguishing the Spanish Spark
Tuesday’s match between the German and Spaniard was considered to be a challenging one for the former due to the latter’s young age and talent.
But Zverev proved too experienced for 19-year-old Jodar, defeating him in straight sets – 7-6(7-3), 6-1, and 6-3.

“I want to keep going and win the matches ahead of me – that is my goal and my aim,” Zverev said.
“Today was a very good test against a very good player.
“I am happy to be in the semi-final but for now, that is it.”
The Road to the Summit
Zverev belongs to the trio of seeds from the top 10 who have survived in the ongoing competition, with fourth-seed Felix Auger-Aliassime and 10th-seed Flavio Cobolli slated to face off against each other in Wednesday’s quarter-final clash.
However, Zverev belongs to a different half of the draw and can only meet the above two players at the summit showdown.
Zverev will be facing off against either 26th-seed Jakub Mensik or 28th-seed Joao Fonseca, both of whom will be looking to achieve their first Grand Slam semi-final berth.
