By earning the call-up at just 15 years and 71 days, the left-handed opener breaks a legendary 36-year-old record held by Sachin Tendulkar, Yankee Scores reports.

Teenage batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi who has already made waves in international cricket, has become the youngest-ever cricketer to be included in the Indian T20 team to visit England and Ireland.
By playing in the series, the teenager will go past the mark set by the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, who became the youngest-ever player for the Indian cricket team at the age of 16 years and 205 days while playing a one-day international match against Pakistan in 1989.
Sooryavanshi has been called into the Indian team because of his incredible performance in the Indian Premier League where he notched 776 runs in just 16 innings at an extraordinary strike rate of 237.30 for Rajasthan Royals.
In addition, Sooryavanshi bagged three awards during the league, including the award of Most Valuable Player, emerging player, and Orange Cap, as well as hitting 72 sixes in the tournament to break the previous record held by Chris Gayle, the best player for West Indies.
He also made 175 during India’s win over England in the Under-19 World Cup final.
“We’ve seen what he can do, almost single-handedly carrying Rajasthan Royals towards the play-offs,” said selection panel chairman Ajit Agarkar.
“He had a great start and backed it up in a competition that is as competitive and high-pressure. He’s a game-changer. We’ve got high hopes of him. He has picked himself.”
