The Tennessee Titans agreed to a three-year agreement with their star defensive tackle, Jeffery Simmons and the deal is for $105.8 million with $100 million guaranteed, Yankee Scores reports
ESPN reports that the extension makes Simmons the highest-paid defensive lineman in NFL history, and the first DT ever to have $100 million guaranteed in a contract.
At $35.3 million yearly, Simmons sails past the previous record established by Kansas City’s Chris Jones, who was making $31.8 million per year. The difference between those two statistics is all you need to know about how good Simmons has been.
Turning 29 in July, with two years left on his contract, Jeffery Simmons now becomes the first defensive tackle to land $100 million guaranteed.

Last season, he had a career-best 11 sacks, shattering the franchise record for most sacks in a single season by a Titans defensive tackle, which was held by Jurrell Casey. He also topped all NFL interior linemen in solo tackles (39), tackles for loss (17), quarterback pressures (60) and sack yards (79.0).
He ended the year earning first-team All-Pro accolades and his fourth Pro Bowl selection.
“Jeffery Simmons is a cornerstone of our franchise and embodies what it means to be a Titan,” general manager Mike Borgonzi said. “He is the best defensive lineman in the National Football League and you win with players like Jeffery”
Simmons, the 19th overall pick in the 2019 draft, has appeared in 99 games in his career with 383 tackles, 42.5 sacks and eight forced fumbles. He is a five-time team captain and a three-time Walter Payton Man of the Year winner for Tennessee.
Less than five weeks away from training camp, the Titans just showed the rest of the AFC precisely where they stand.
