Los Angeles Dodgers president Stan Kasten ended weeks of online speculation about the team’s future, standing on the field at Dodger Stadium before Friday’s game against Pittsburgh.

He flatly said the Dodgers are not going anywhere.
Kasten didn’t hold back. “They are not for sale,” he said according to ESPN, adding that there has never been a sales process. “The only thing on the agenda is winning” he said.
There has been rampant speculation ever since owner Mark Walter agreed to sell the Los Angeles Lakers to businessmen Josh Kushner and Bob Iger in a deal reportedly worth $12.5 billion, a record price for a professional sports franchise.
Naturally, fans and pundits started to speculate that Walter might be looking to cash in his chips elsewhere too.
Kasten was quick to deny this, calling the sale of the Lakers a one-off and not the first move in a broader exit strategy. Walter said he also has no plans to sell any of his other sports holdings, including the WNBA’s Los Angeles Sparks.
Rumblings about the timing were not helped by reports last month that Walter’s business empire is under investigation by federal prosecutors and the SEC for tax issues.
But Kasten said the investigation has nothing to do with the Dodgers’ ownership situation.
