Austin Reeves and Luka Doncic screaming at each other, in Lakers win over New York Knicks

Lakers stay hot without LeBron

The Los Angeles Lakers extended their winning streak to four games with a hard-fought victory over the New York Knicks on Sunday. Even without LeBron James, sidelined by elbow and foot injuries, the Lakers found enough firepower to control the game.

Doncic delivers again

Luka Doncic led the charge with 35 points and eight rebounds, continuing his dominant stretch. He sealed the win late with his fifth three-pointer, showcasing his ability to close out tight contests. Austin Reaves added 25 points, giving the Lakers a reliable second scoring option. Rui Hachimura chipped in 13 points, helping the Lakers maintain balance.

Knicks rally falls short

The Knicks trimmed a 23-point deficit to just 10 in the fourth quarter, but turnovers and cold shooting from deep proved costly. Jalen Brunson scored 24 points, including 10 in the final period, while Karl-Anthony Towns posted 25 points and 16 rebounds. Still, New York’s 8-of-34 shooting from beyond the arc stalled their comeback bid.

Key moments down the stretch

The Lakers endured a scoring drought of more than six minutes in the fourth, but Luke Kennard’s clutch three-pointer and Doncic’s dagger triple secured the win. Rui Hachimura chipped in 13 points, helping Los Angeles maintain control despite the late surge from New York.

What’s next

The Lakers, now surging in the West, will host Minnesota on Tuesday as they look to keep climbing the standings. The Knicks continue their road trip against the Clippers on Monday, aiming to bounce back after dropping just their second game in six outings.
