James Harden was arrested early Saturday morning in Houston for unlawfully carrying of a weapon, a misdemeanor crime, Yankee Scores reports.
The charges against Harden arise following an allegation by the police that they discovered a gun in the car he was driving.

According to court documents, James Harden was seen driving a Mercedes in downtown Houston shortly after 3:40 a.m. He stopped his vehicle behind another one which had been stopped in the vicinity of 1600 Jefferson.
In the ensuing interaction with the police, they noticed a gun inside the cup holder of Harden’s car.

The documents further indicate that Harden told them that the gun was his own. Harden was arrested and taken to Harris County Jail where he spent the night and was later released on a general order bond.
The criminal complaint filed indicates that Harden is accused of “unlawfully, intentionally and knowingly carrying a pistol.” Some sources indicated that the gun was in plain view and not in a holster.
He is supposed to appear in court for arraignment on June 22. Harden has remained mum since the incident and neither have any of his agents responded to the allegations against him.
The arrest comes as a misdemeanor but the bond conditions place immediate limitations on Harden’s off-season.
According to TMZ, Harden’s bond requires him not to possess firearms, ammunition and other weapons during the duration of the case.
It further requires him to avoid usage, consumption or possession of alcohol and other drugs apart from prescription medicines, and to provide random urine samples.
