The NBA is not going to take action against the Miami Heat player, Bam Adebayo, who reportedly hit his former teammate, Tyler Herro, at a gym in Las Vegas last Friday, Yankee Scores reports.

“After discussing with the players involved and the NBPA, everyone would prefer to move on from this unfortunate circumstance, and no further action will be taken by the league,” the NBA spokesperson said. In an interview with ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne earlier this week, Herro stated that he wants to “move on” from the matter.

“Honestly, I’m just trying to move past all of it,” Herro told ESPN. “I’m focused on Milwaukee and building something special. They obviously just traded the greatest player in their history, so we want to come in and help continue what they’ve been doing.”

Herro’s comments came days after sources reported that the Milwaukee guard had been in a physical confrontation with Adebayo inside the Resorts World Hotel in Las Vegas last Friday.

The altercation began after sources said that Adebayo questioned Herro over comments that the guard had said about him in a criticism posted online, referring to the seven years during which the two players were teammates in Miami before Herro was traded to Milwaukee as part of the blockbuster move that got Giannis Antetokounmpo to the team.

Herro retorted with verbal comments that the center found offensive and a physical altercation followed. Sources familiar with the incident told ESPN that Adebayo punched Herro near the chin area, although the type of physical attack is in dispute.

Sources familiar with the incident said that Herro did not fall to the floor while Adebayo punched him. Herro was stopped from retaliating physically because other people in the gym intervened.

According to ESPN, Adebayo took issue with comments from a social media account allegedly associated with Herro questioning whether Adebayo justified his $60 million salary and suggesting that if Herro had been healthy, he’s the Heat player who needed more help from his supporting cast.

That seemed to be a reference to comments Adebayo had made after the Heat were eliminated in the play-in tournament this season, suggesting he needed more help from his supporting cast if Miami were to get back into title contention.

Heat sources told ESPN that Adebayo and Herro had a mostly good relationship during their time as teammates but had grown apart over the past year as Herro played in just 33 games due to various injuries and struggled to adjust to changes to the team’s new offensive scheme.
