The Golden State Warriors are signing veteran power forward Georges Niang to a one-year deal worth $3.9 million, completing their 15-man roster ahead of the upcoming season.
According to ESPN sources, the Warriors reached an agreement with backup guard Brandon Williams to sign a one-year minimum contract. These are the first two outside free-agent signings from the Warriors, who haven’t been active in such signings before.

Niang didn’t play in the previous season after suffering a fracture of his left foot back in September. Prior to that, he demonstrated himself to be quite a durable floor spacer who shot 39.9% of his career shots from beyond the arc on high volume, playing in 72, 76, 78, 82 and 79 games during the past five seasons.
Roster Completion
The Warriors will now add Niang in their bench front court behind veterans Draymond Green, Kristaps Porzingis, and Al Horford, as well as rookie Yaxel Lendeborg.
The player has some ties to the franchise since he played with Santa Cruz Warriors, G-League affiliate of Golden State, after joining them in training camp back in 2017.
New Deal for Curry
The next priority for the Warriors is to take care of superstar guard Stephen Curry, who will become extension-eligible next Saturday. Both parties have expressed strong intentions to make sure Curry finishes his career in Golden State.
