Free agent guard Brandon Williams is on the verge of signing with the Golden State Warriors for the 2026-2027 NBA season.
The deal comprises $2.6 million minimum contract according to agents Derek Lafayette and Curtis Lawrence who spoke with ESPN’s Shams Charania on Tuesday.

Off-Season Addition
Williams becomes the Warriors’ first external addition to a relatively quiet offseason as the team adds a much-needed perimeter scorer and ball of fire for a bench group that was often lacking last year.
Williams averaged 13.0 points per game in 22.2 minutes for the Dallas Mavericks last year and averages 10.7 points per game in 19.3 minutes over 140 career games, including 34 starts across four seasons. Williams started his career with the Portland Trail Blazers.
This move by the Warriors gives them their 14th rostered player. General manager Mike Dunleavy said the Warriors plan to fill their final roster spot this offseason after they’ve left it open in previous years due to financial reasons.
It’s something they’re doing partly because of the fact that their two starting wings, Jimmy Butler and Moses Moody, will miss the first month while recovering from knee surgeries.
On December 28, 2023, Williams entered into a two-way contract with the Dallas Mavericks. Williams made it to the 2024 NBA Finals, where the Mavericks were beaten by the Boston Celtics in five games. Williams signed a two-way contract again on July 12, 2024.
