Charles Leclerc was fastest in the first practice session for the Hungarian Grand Prix, Yankee Scores reports
His session ended early when a technical issue caused his Ferrari to stop with just over five minutes remaining.
Leclerc’s best lap of 1:19.075 on soft tyres was good enough to beat Max Verstappen by almost half a second, with Lewis Hamilton completing the top three for Ferrari’s second car.

Verstappen was briefly top of the pile on his own soft-tyre run, but Leclerc jumped him with a late improvement. The Red Bull driver also complained of erratic downshifts on the radio and will face a post-session investigation for an incident with Carlos Sainz, with stewards noting both drivers for erratic driving.
Per Total Motorsport, Hamilton had a frightening moment of his own in the session, running wide on the marbles through the final corner before recovering to avoid a spin. He finished third, ahead of both Mercedes regulars.
Aston Martin’s upgraded car for Lance Stroll was red flagged in the session after a suspected rear suspension failure when he spun out at the Hungaroring. George Russell was the quickest Mercedes in fifth, with reserve driver Fred Vesti impressing in seventh
