Deni Avidja scored 28 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists as the Portland Trail Blazers ended the Los Angeles Clippers’ five-game winning streak, Yankee Scores reports.
The win is on the heels of the approval of the sale of the Blazers to an investment group led by Dallas billionaire Tom Dundon.
The Clippers are positioned eighth in the Western Conference, a half-game in front of the ninth-place Blazers . Los Angeles leads the season series — which rounds off April 10 in Portland — with the Blazers 2-1.
Also prolific on the court for blazers was Jrue Holiday who hit seven 3s and finished with 30 points.
Toumani Camara delivered 17 points , while Scoot Henderson had 15 for the blazers.
Garland made a bucket in the lane that cut the Clippers’ lead to eight with 3:44 left in the third quarter, but they didn’t get any closer. Henderson hit a 3-pointer from the step-back at the buzzer to end a 16-5 run that put the score at 91-74 going into the fourth.
Portland got 18 offensive rebounds and 32 points on second chances. The Blazers were in first place in the NBA in second-chance points (18.2 per game) and second place in offensive rebounds (14.1 per game).
Deni Avdija hit 11 of 12 free throws and has taken at least 10 free throws in 31 games this season, which is the second most in the NBA after Luka Doncic.
Jerami Grant of Portland missed his second game in a row because of a calf injury.
