General manager John Lynch spoke to reporters on Saturday about Brandon Aiyuk and made it clear he’s not interested in revisiting the wide receiver’s messy standoff with the team, Yankee Scores reports

“Brandon is a left squad designation, so he’s not on our 90-man roster. And we as an organization and me individually are going to focus on the players that are here. And so I don’t have nothing to say on it, I don’t have nothing to add to that. We wish him the best. We wish his family well.”
Aiyuk last saw action in October of 2024 when he tore his ACL and MCL. He was put on the reserve/left squad list in December after he stopped coming to rehab and ceased communicating with the team.
The 49ers later nullified $27 million in guaranteed money from his contract. He’s spent the offseason complaining on social media about wanting out, stating he’d rather play for the Washington Commanders and his former college quarterback, Jayden Daniels.
According to ESPN, Aiyuk’s categorization as a left-squad player means he would have to apply to the NFL for reinstatement before he can be traded or released, and he has yet to do so.
Until then, the 49ers have little need to push the issue as training camp goes on without him.
