Ewers spent his rookie campaign in Miami after the Dolphins drafted him in the seventh round of the 2025 draft. He played in four games, three starts, and completed 55 of 83 passes for 622 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions.
Texas Standout To NFL Wanderer
Before turning pro, Ewers had a decorated career at Texas, passing for over 9,000 yards and 68 touchdowns in three seasons and leading the Longhorns to two straight College Football Playoff berths.
Earlier in his college career he spent a year at Ohio State. But despite that pedigree, he fell to Day 3 of the draft and things never quite clicked in Miami, especially when a new coaching regime arrived and Ewers struggled in training camp.
What that means for Jacksonville
The move indicates that the Jaguars are likely moving on from veteran backup Nick Mullens, who threw just three passes for the team last year.
