Puka Nacua for the Los Angeles Rams

The rising star Puka Nacua off‑field journey takes a dramatic turn… Yankee Scores reports.

Puka Nacua Basketball‑Style Spotlight

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua has checked into rehab, his attorney Levi McCathern confirmed to The California Post. The news comes as Nacua faces a lawsuit alleging assault and antisemitic remarks on New Year’s Eve.

Rehab Before Allegations

McCathern emphasized that Nacua entered rehab “a substantial period of time before any of these allegations broke” and is expected to remain there for a while longer. He added that the program is designed “to improve his overall behavior in every aspect of his life.”

According to NFL Network, Nacua will complete the program in time to participate in all Rams OTAs.

Denial of Allegations

The lawsuit cites gender violence, assault and battery, and negligence. However, McCathern previously told ABC News that Nacua “denies the allegations in the strongest possible terms” and claims to have video evidence showing the plaintiff’s actions are inconsistent with her claims.

McVay and Rams Respond

At the NFL’s annual league meeting, Rams coach Sean McVay said the team has been aware of the incident since New Year’s Eve. “But man, you guys know, I trust this kid’s heart,” McVay explained. “Love him, put your arm around him, want to continue to help him grow and really get all the appropriate facts before I rush to judgment.”

General manager Les Snead echoed that sentiment, stating, “Right now, we’re just focused on the human being and then we’ll get to that step. We’ll let him continue becoming.”

Past Controversy

In December, Nacua apologized for performing a gesture on a livestream that was “antisemitic in nature.” He insisted he “had no idea” of its meaning at the time.

Looking Ahead

Despite the controversy, Nacua remains eligible for a contract extension. McVay stressed that while his play on the field is “amazing,” representing the organization carries responsibilities beyond production. “He knows that. Those are the expectations, and we’re hopeful this will be an opportunity for him to learn and grow.”
