Arsenal Take Title Race Control as Manchester City Draw

Haaland Dejected after Everton draw

Arsenal are now in the driver’s seat with only three games to go: is the trophy heading to North London? Yankee Scores has the full breakdown of the draw that shook the Premier League.

Manchester City’s title hopes have suffered a setback following a 3-3 draw at Everton.

Manchester City are now 5 points adrift of Arsenal at the summit with a game in hand. This has put the Gunners in charge of the title race as they hope not to drop points with three games left.

City in First Half Control

Doku put the team ahead and then wrapped things up, but the excitement came from what happened next.

It appeared that Guardiola’s men were in command at halftime, but then Everton went on to score three times, with Haaland and Doku pulling them back from behind to ensure David Moyes did not claim victory.

Guehi’s Error Proves Costly

It appeared that Manchester City were cruising after Doku sent the ball into the net with a curling shot just before halftime. However, a bad pass from Marc Guehi allowed Everton substitute Thierno Barry to level the match, and shortly afterward, Jake O’Brien scored to give the visitors the lead.

Amidst the almost feverish atmosphere created by Hill Dickinson Stadium for Pep Guardiola’s men, Merlin Rohl found Barry in space to score what seemed like an unbelievable second goal. However, Haaland responded with a goal but his comeback was about to end abruptly before Doku came in with a final shot.

Arsenal in Firm Control

The job is well cut out for Arsenal, with upcoming matches against West Ham, relegated Burnley, and Crystal Palace, while City face hurdles against Brentford, Crystal Palace, Chelsea, and Bournemouth.
