With Bukayo Saka back in the goals and Viktor Gyökeres hitting the 21-goal mark, the Gunners are peaking at the perfect time. Yankee Scores breaks down the dominant first-half blitz and what it means for the title race.
Arsenal are six points clear at the Premier League summit thanks to a fine display from Bukayo Saka and another clinical night from Viktor Gyokeres, who netted his 21st goal of the season as they comfortably beat Fulham at the Emirates.
The victory came just three days before Mikel Arteta’s team take on Atletico Madrid in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final, after a 1-1 first-leg draw.
Saka’s Perfect Return and Early Breakthrough
In the ninth minute, Saka, who was included in Arsenal’s starting XI for the first time since March due to an Achilles injury, dribbled past Fulham’s Raul Jimenez on the right flank and laid it off to Gyokeres, who converted the chance from inside the box.
Gyokeres was then instrumental in setting up Saka for the second goal five minutes from halftime, sliding him a ball through the defense before the winger lashed a shot into the bottom corner past Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno.

Finally, in added time, Gyokeres netted his second of the night by heading home Leandro Trossard’s cross from the left flank, giving Arsenal a comfortable 3-0 lead going into halftime.
The Gunners thought they had scored a fourth but Riccardo Calafiori’s header hit the crossbar after being deemed offside on an earlier attempt.
The State of the Title Race
Gunners are six points clear as Manchester have played two games fewer. Manchester will hope to cut the gap when they take on Everton on Monday Night football
