Cristiano Ronaldo continues his quest for 1000-goal milestone as he heads to 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Football’s all-time scorer Cristiano Ronaldo is set to lead Portugal to yet another FIFA World Cup as he continues to defy age and expectation at the age of 41.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has continued to cement his position as the greatest goal poacher ever to play the game.

As the Selecao prepare for the 2026 FIFA World Cup to be hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico, all eyes will be on the Portuguese captain as he leads a talented squad, blending veteran experience with youthful dynamism.

Ronaldo’s leadership was instrumental in securing qualification, and his insatiable hunger for goals shows no signs of waning.

How many goals does Cristiano Ronaldo have now?

Cristiano Ronaldo’s club goals

The striker began his professional footballing career at Sporting CP before moving to England where he joined Manchester United, winning the Champions League and his first Ballon d’Or.

He produced staggering numbers at Real Madrid, registering 450 goals in 438 matches to etch his name as the club’s all-time record scorer.

Ronaldo won several titles with the Spanish giants including four Champions League titles. In 2018, he moved to Juventus scoring 101 goals before returning to Manchester United and now Al Nassr of Saudi Arabia where he has already netted over 100 goals.

Ronaldo will head to the World Cup in his pursuit of an audacious 1000-goal milestone, as he closes in after every game.

He played a crucial role in Portugal’s qualification, scoring important goals during the UEFA campaign including including braces and long-range specials.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Club Career Goals

  • Sporting CP: 5 goals
  • Manchester United (2003–2009 & 2021–2022): 145 goals
  • Real Madrid: 450 goals
  • Juventus: 101 goals
  • Al-Nassr: 129 goals
  • Portugal international goals: 143

Grand total: 973 goals

Meanwhile, the striker has disclosed that his dream is to reach 100 goals before he announced his retirement from professional football.

He insisted that what set his goals apart from those by other all-time scorers, including legends such as Pele and Alfredo Di Stefano, is that there are clips of all his goals. He said via ABC:

“All the goals I have scored, they have video. They all have video. Listen, I respect all of them (Pele and Di Stefano).
And if you want more goals, I can bring them from training, too. And I will prove to the people after.

“They prefer this player, or this is the best one. I don’t care about that.”
