For the first time since Venus and Serena Williams met in 2009, two players from the same country will contest the Wimbledon women’s singles championship on Centre Court.

Muchova’s Brutal Path to the Final
Not only did No. 10 seed Muchova reach her second career Grand Slam final; she tore through a gauntlet of major champions along the way.
She beat Barbora Krejcikova, Naomi Osaka and then Coco Gauff in a three-set thriller that concluded 7-6 (12-10) after Muchova saved a match point, according to Sky Sports
It is the first time in her career that she has beaten three major winners in one tournament.

Noskova’s steady push
No. 9 seed Noskova has been the image of poise, dropping only two sets all tournament. She beat Marta Kostyuk 6-4, 6-4 in the semi-final to reach the first Grand Slam final of her career.
A victory on Saturday would make her the youngest Wimbledon champion since Petra Kvitova in 2011.
What’s at stake
Noskova triumphed in Berlin and Muchova won Bad Homburg prior of the grass swing, so both women have come into this on a high.
Neither has ever won a major and the two have faced only once, a three-set Muchova victory at last year’s US Open Third round.
The styles of both players promise fireworks. Noskova’s flat, aggressive groundstrokes will aim to dominate Muchova’s variation and touch, but questions remain about Muchova’s fitness after a taxing semifinal encounter.
It’s going to be a great Saturday for Czech tennis, no matter who takes the championship.
