As the Chicago Bulls interview a star-studded list of executive candidates, one specific demand from ownership could change everything; Yankee Scores reports……
The Chicago Bulls have started the process of appointing the best candidate for their position of basketball operations.
Meet the Candidates for Bulls’ Top Job
It has been confirmed that they have received permission to hold interviews with a wide range of individuals. The candidates include Timberwolves’ GM Matt Lloyd, Pistons’ senior vice president Dennis Lindsey, Hawks’ senior vice president Bryson Graham, Cavaliers’ GM Mike Gansey, and Spurs’ assistant GM Dave Telep.
The Bulls are also expected to hold discussions with Austin Brown about the available position, according to ESPN. Brown is the co-head of the basketball division at CAA.
The interviews are scheduled to take place in the coming days. The team is aiming to name the best candidate who will lead the team by mid-May draft combine.
Previously, the Bulls made some significant changes within the management. They fired executive vice president of basketball operations Arturas Karnisovas. They also dismissed general manager Marc Eversley after six years with only one playoff season under their belts.
The Billy Donovan Clause
The owner is adamant about keeping head coach Billy Donovan regardless of what decision they make.
“If I interview someone and they’re not sold on Billy, they’re not sold on a Hall of Fame coach. They’re not sold on a person who’s won championships in college. Who’s gone deep in the playoffs with Oklahoma City,” Bulls CEO and president Michael Reinsdorf said April 7. “… If Billy wants to be our coach and someone’s not interested in that, then they’re probably not the right candidate for us.”
CEO and President of Bulls, Michael Reinsdorf announced on April 7th that this time the team would go broader in the recruitment process when compared to the previous hiring of Arturas Karnisovas back in 2020.
