Haiti will have to switch their kits prior to their World Cup clash with Scotland, just days before the match takes place, Yankee Scores reports.
The reason for this is that the shirts worn by Haiti feature the Battle of Vertieres, the battle where the country achieved its independence in 1803.
These designs are seen in all three kits designed for the World Cup.
Haiti has been forced to change the design of its World Cup jersey after it was deemed too political by FIFA.
The jersey originally included a depiction of the final battle of the Haitian War of Independence in 1803.

The above picture shows the original shirt worn by Haiti.
However, FIFA has demanded the switch, as they do not conform to FIFA’s guidelines concerning any kind of political, religious, or personal messages and slogans being featured on kit.
The manufacturer of Haiti kit, Colombian sports apparel firm Saeta, has been surprised by FIFA’s decision. It was surprising for the company as they stated that they had consulted with FIFA about the design and even managed to make requested changes to the shirts during the mandatory review process.
Production Rush Ahead of the Boston Opener
