NBA player Malik Beasley has been indicted on federal gambling charges tied to a sports betting scheme, his lawyer said Monday, Yankee Scores reports.
The 29-year-old is working with the government to voluntarily surrender, according to Shams Charania who also reported the matter is connected to point shaving and prop bets.
Malik Beasley, a nine-year NBA veteran, has been indicted on sports gambling charges by federal prosecutors at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York.
Ed Davis, a former lottery pick who spent 12 seasons in the NBA, has also been indicted.

The NBA opened an investigation into Beasley after a sportsbook noticed irregular betting interest in his stats in January 2024 and his lawyer, Steve Haney, said the hooper was fully cooperating with the probe.
Just 10 months ago, Haney said his client was no longer the subject of a federal gambling probe… but that was not true.
Both Malik Beasley and former NBA player Ed Davis have been indicted, per The Athletic.
Beasley could have issues with the law, and the NBA too depending on the allegations tied to the charges, the league has a zero-tolerance policy for player betting… and Jontay Porter was banned for life after officials found he shared inside info with bettors and bet on games.
Prosecutors say Beasley worked with Davis to get out of millions of dollars in gambling debt…and used the betting scheme to get Beasley out of a loan Davis had given him.
