Saturday’s Major League Baseball clash between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the New York Yankees was postponed because of heavy rain, with the fixture now set to be played as part of a split double-header on Sunday.
The rearranged schedule will see the opening game begin at 9:35 a.m. PT, before the second encounter is played later in the day. The evening game will be broadcast nationally on NBC, with Jason Benetti, Orel Hershiser, and Roger Clemens providing coverage.
Sunday broadcast schedule adjusted
The postponement has also led to changes in the Dodgers’ television coverage.
Friday’s series opener at Yankee Stadium was shown on SportsNet LA, while Saturday’s postponed contest had originally been due to air on Fox. Before the weather disruption, the club’s next appearance on SportsNet LA was not expected until Tuesday’s game against the Philadelphia Phillies, per True Bluela.
Instead, SportsNet LA will now televise the opening game of Sunday’s double-header, while NBC and Peacock will carry the second game, scheduled for a 4:20 p.m. PT first pitch.

Pitching order yet to be confirmed
The Dodgers had planned to start Emmet Sheehan against left-hander Ryan Weathers in Saturday’s postponed fixture, with Yoshinobu Yamamoto set to face Cam Schlittler in Sunday’s original game.
Following the scheduling changes, it remains uncertain how both clubs will arrange their starting pitchers across the two games on Sunday.
First Dodgers rainout of the season
The postponement marks the Dodgers’ first rainout of the 2025 season, although the team has already experienced two weather-related delays during away fixtures.
Their series finale against the Washington Nationals on 5 April began two hours and nine minutes late because of rain. Later, on 23 June, the opening pitch against the Minnesota Twins at Target Field was delayed by 28 minutes due to poor weather conditions.
