LeBron James’ agent, Rich Paul of Klutch Sports, said the basketball superstar will not be rushed into choosing a team to play for next NBA season, Yankee Scores reports.

He said teams looking to sign James are free to wait until later on without taking any action towards changing his mind in regard to the matter.

“We’re not going to be rushed,” Paul said on the latest podcast episode of “Game Over” with Max Kellerman and Rich Paul, released Monday evening. “We’re not going to be rushed. It’s his choice to make and when he makes the choice, he’ll make it.”

Paul further stated that the teams have contacted him again to see if there was something else they needed to do while James makes his decisions and he told them that they did not have to do anything.

“There’s been several people to call and say, ‘Hey, Rich, is there anything more we should be doing? We could be doing?'” Paul said. “And my answer is, ‘No. We don’t need you to go above and beyond about anything. We understand it. It’s clear. All the messages have been sent.'”

Tuesday will mark three weeks since Paul told the Los Angeles Lakers that James was not coming back for 2026-27 and that he was going into free agency to find a new home team for his record-setting 24th year in the NBA.

Among those who still remain hopeful of signing him are the Golden State Warriors, the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Philadelphia 76ers, and the Miami Heat, ESPN  learnt from multiple sources. According to them, the top teams from the Eastern Conference are believed to be at the front of his list.

James was spotted in public in New York last week and offered very little information on his plans, saying only: “I won’t hold you guys up too much longer.”
