Fury’s Comeback
Fury had teased an announcement was imminent just days ago, only to flip the script altogether.
But he posted a clip on Instagram saying “it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen” and claimed fresh financial demands from Joshua’s camp were the sticking point
He was furious , branding those involved as money-hungry and accusing them of loading on late costs even after terms were reportedly agreed with Saudi backer Turki Alalshikh.
Hearn Retaliates
The mixed signals are nothing new. Days earlier, Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn dismissed Fury’s claims of an imminent deal, telling About Boxing there was still no real agreement in place, per Boxingnewsonline.
The venue is still the big issue. Joshua’s contract stipulates the fight must be staged in the UK, while Fury has already accepted a fight in New York, with Madison Square Garden and November 20 reportedly being considered.
Netflix is already marketing the fight as a done deal but with Hearn and Fury’s camps still at loggerheads over money and location, the fight is in doubt
