Lewis Hamilton took pole for the British Grand Prix Sprint on Saturday, edging Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli by only 0.011 seconds on home soil at Silverstone, Yankee Scores reports.
The Ferrari driver was fastest in the timesheets for all of Friday’s Sprint Qualifying, having led Free Practice, and then was fastest in all three segments ahead of a crucial one-lap shootout in SQ3, according to ESPN.
Hamilton’s best lap of 1:28.376 was enough to better Antonelli‘s 1:28.387, with Max Verstappen third for Red Bull, more than three tenths off the pace.

Charles Leclerc, Hamilton’s Ferrari team-mate, was fourth for the second row, with George Russell fifth.
Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri completed the top seven for McLaren, Norris passing through the early portions with brake duct problems before repairs ahead of SQ3.
The top ten were completed out by Isack Hadjar, Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad.
It’s Hamilton’s first pole in any form of qualifying since winning a Sprint in China last season, and comes three weeks after his win in Barcelona, continuing his momentum in his second season with Ferrari.

The seven-time world champion, who is aiming a record 10th win in his home race on Sunday, then lauded his team, adding that the car had been good all weekend with ongoing modifications from the factory.

Saturday’s 17-lap Sprint begins at 1200 local time, with qualifying for Sunday’s Grand Prix at 1600.
