Denver Broncos outside linebacker Jonathon Cooper has been arrested in the early hours of Friday on charges of domestic violence, Yankee Scores reports.
Cooper had been detained at the Douglas County Jail (Colorado) on charges of criminal mischief, with domestic violence enhancement.
Jonathon Cooper’s girlfriend was also arrested on domestic violence and criminal mischief charges.

As per the police complaint documents obtained by multiple sources, Cooper and his girlfriend were both taken into custody following a fight and physical altercation between the two after accusing each other of cheating and both cell phones getting damaged in the process.
It may be noted here that Cooper had been arrested by Parker Police at 11:16 p.m. MT on Thursday night and booked at the Douglas County Jail by 2:38 a.m. on Friday. Cooper made his first appearance in court early Friday morning and was released on personal recognizance. He will be in court again Monday.
Representatives from the Parker Police have not issued any statements in this regard as per ESPN.
“We are aware of the matter and gathering more information,” the Broncos said in a statement.
Cooper will be returning for his sixth year with the Broncos. He finished second on the team in terms of sacks with eight last year. The Broncos broke their record for sacks in a single season at 68 in 2025.
Cooper extended his contract by four years in 2024 worth $60 million.
