Kawhi Leonard against Detroit Pistons

Kawhi Leonard lit up the court in Inglewood on Wednesday night, delivering a performance that reminded everyone why he remains one of the NBA’s most feared scorers. YankeeSports reports

The Clippers’ star forward set the tone early and never let up, guiding his team to another crucial victory in their playoff push.

Clippers climb above .500

Los Angeles Clippers routed the Minnesota Timberwolves 153-128 on Wednesday night, moving above .500 with their third straight victory and sixth in seven games.

Los Angeles, once buried at 6-21, now sit eighth in the Western Conference with a 33-32 record. They have won six of their last seven, including three straight, and posted their highest points total of the season. The win followed Monday’s triumph over New York to open a five-game homestand.

Leonard unstoppable

Leonard finished 15 of 20 from the field, hitting six of nine from beyond the arc and sinking nine of ten free throws. He scored 18 in the first quarter, 28 by halftime, and carried 39 into the fourth before closing with 45.

Supporting cast delivers

Bennedict Mathurin added 22 points, while newcomer Darius Garland impressed with 21, including five three-pointers. The Clippers drained 19 of 37 from deep, overwhelming Minnesota’s defense.

Timberwolves falter

Anthony Edwards led the Timberwolves with 36 points, and Naz Reid chipped in 18. Yet Minnesota dropped to sixth in the West after losing three straight, just a half-game behind the third-place Lakers.

What’s next

The Timberwolves continue their road trip at Golden State on Friday, while the Clippers host Chicago. With Leonard in this form, Los Angeles look ready to keep climbing.
