The Nuggets forced a high-stakes Game 6 in Minneapolis with an impressive performance over Timberwolves; Yankee Scores reports.

Denver Nuggets‘ play-off hopes were kept alive with a 125-113 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Jokic Made the Difference

Nikola Jokic scored a triple double.

with 27 points, 12 rebounds and 16 assists, Serbia’s Jokic, 31, was the joint top scorer.

The Nuggets trailed 3-1 as they welcomed Minnesota to Ball Arena, Colorado, and defeat would have seen them eliminated.

“Physicality, focus,” Jokic said. “I have been here before. When you’re playing an elimination game, you need to be extremely focused.”

Back to Winning Ways

Jamal Murray had a game-high 24 points to help Denver get back on track after three successive defeats.

“We had to play like we was down 3-1,” Murray said.

“I think we did a good job of bringing energy into the game and playing for 48 minutes, not letting up off the gas. That was a great team win.

“Just an embarrassing first four games of the series,” Nuggets guard Christian Braun said.

Adelman Reacts

Nuggets coach David Adelman was satisfied with Jokic’s performance.

“Jok is Jok. These (small) sample size games and the freak outs when he doesn’t play well. You know he’s going to play well. Then his 16 assists. Assists are hard to get unless you make shots.”

Terrible Night for McDaniels

However, it was underwhelming Jaden McDaniels who was booed all night by Denver fans.

The boos may not be unconnected with McDaniels calling  several Nuggets players in game 2 “bad defenders.”

“Nothing dirty,” McDaniels said. “It’s all fun to me. I feed into it. We just got to get the job done next game and there’s no more talking.”

Minneapolis will host the game six of the best-of-seven series  on Thursday.
