Victor Wenbanyama

Victor Wembanyama delivered a historic performance that had the NBA buzzing, fueling San Antonio’s latest victory in style. Yankee Scores reports.

Fastest Double-Double in NBA History

The third year sensation reached 10 points and 10 rebounds in just 8 minutes, 31 seconds, breaking a record that had stood since 1966. His 10th rebound came less than two minutes into the second quarter, surpassing Jim Washington’s nine-minute mark. Wembanyama finished with a season-high 41 points and 16 rebounds, shooting 17-for-27 from the field and 3-for-6 from beyond the arc.

Spurs Extend Winning Streak

San Antonio rolled past Chicago 129-114, marking their ninth consecutive win. Stephon Castle added 21 points, 10 assists, and eight rebounds, while six Spurs scored in double figures. Wembanyama punctuated his night with a driving one-handed dunk midway through the fourth quarter, his 14th game this season with at least 30 points.

Bulls Struggle Amid Off-Court Drama

Tre Jones scored 23 points in his return to San Antonio, while Leonard Miller and Collin Sexton added 21 and 20 points respectively. The Bulls, however, dropped their fourth straight game. They took the floor just hours after waiving Jaden Ivey for “conduct detrimental to the team,” a move that overshadowed their road trip.

The Turning Point

Chicago briefly led early, but San Antonio responded with a 20-13 run sparked by Wembanyama’s dominance. By the third quarter, the Spurs had stretched their lead to 29 points, leaving little doubt about the outcome.

What’s Next

The Bulls return home to host Indiana on Wednesday, hoping to snap their losing streak. Meanwhile, the Spurs travel to Golden State, aiming to extend their winning streak and continue riding Wembanyama’s historic momentum.
