Trevor Zegras has agreed to a four-year extension with the Philadelphia Flyers worth $36.5 million.
The average annual value of the contract is $9.125 million. The agreement reached Wednesday night makes the 25-year-old the highest-paid player on the roster.

Zegras had a career-high season in his first year with the Flyers after coming over from the Anaheim Ducks last summer in a deal that sent Ryan Poehling and two draft picks the other way.
He played center and wing, and scored a career-high 26 goals and 67 points in 81 games.
The extension was in response to Zegras filing for salary arbitration as a restricted free agent.
The deal, which reportedly includes a restricted no-trade clause in years three and four and runs through the 2029-30 season.
“I’m happy with the way he’s developed this year,” general manager Danny Briere said, according to ESPN.
“I think it’s validation of what we know about him, that he has the ability to be a big player for us for a long time.”
Zegras also impressed in his first taste of the playoffs, leading the Flyers with six points in 10 games during their postseason run, their first non-bubble playoff series in 14 years, before falling to eventual Stanley Cup champion Carolina Hurricanes in the second round.
His new deal is huge. The Flyers envision him as their center of the future, although his position is a bit of a mystery, somewhere between center and wing.
