Spurs keep rolling at home

The San Antonio Spurs extended their winning streak to four games with a dominant 145-120 victory over the Houston Rockets on Sunday night. The win further solidified their hold on the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference.

Wembanyama sets the tone

Victor Wembanyama led the charge with 29 points, showcasing his versatility from deep and in the paint. His highlight came on a reverse dunk through contact that pushed San Antonio’s lead to 83-61 early in the third quarter. The 7-foot-4 All-Star continues to anchor the Spurs’ surge.

Fox and Castle shine

De’Aaron Fox added 20 points and 10 assists, orchestrating the offense with precision. Rookie Stephon Castle chipped in 23 points, while Keldon Johnson scored 20. San Antonio’s balanced attack overwhelmed Houston, with 38 assists and a season-high 58% shooting from the field.

Rockets struggle defensively

Kevin Durant and Amen Thompson each scored 23 points for the Rockets, but defensive lapses proved costly. Houston allowed a season-high 145 points and 56 in the paint. Despite rallying when Wembanyama sat in the first quarter, The Rockets briefly led late in the first quarter but couldn’t sustain momentum, dropping into fourth place in the West.

Playoff race implications

The Spurs improved to 47-17, winning 15 of their last 16 games, and remain just 2.5 games behind Oklahoma City for the top spot in the West. Houston dropped to 39-24, slipping into fourth place, a half-game behind Minnesota, continuing its pattern of alternating wins and losses.
